North Raleigh School of Music has one mission: To Cultivate Confidence and Beauty Through Music
Founded by a family of music teachers in 2012, the mission of the school is to be a place where musicians of all ages and skill levels can get personalized instruction in a friendly, communal atmosphere.
The teaching staff includes experienced music educators with advanced music degrees who offer instrumental and vocal training. Not only do the teachers provide top-notch lessons, but they also connect students to local performance opportunities.
Motivated by their love of music, the instructors are passionate about sharing their expertise with others so their creativity and talent can shine.
Erin received her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Appalachian State University and her Master of Music in vocal performance and pedagogy from East Carolina University. A former elementary school music teacher in Wake County Public Schools, she has been teaching voice students since 2005. Ms. Wenger directed an outreach opera for high schoolers at Long Leaf Opera, directed many summer musicals, and has directed opera scenes for East Carolina Opera Theatre. In addition to directing, Ms. Wenger stage managed operas for Asheville Lyric Opera. As a performer, Ms. Wenger has sung with the North Carolina Opera, the Asheville Lyric Opera Company, Opera Company of North Carolina, the East Carolina Opera Theatre, the Appalachian State Opera, and the UNCGreensboro Opera. She completed a performance internship with the Asheville Lyric Opera Company where she performed an opera concert series all over Western North Carolina. She performed the role of Cio-Cio San in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly with East Carolina Opera Theater and Pitti-Sing in The Mikado with the Durham Savoyards. She sang the role of Nedda in Triangle Opera Studio’s I Pagliacci. She has studied with Dr. John Van Cura, Marion Pratnicki , Dr. Perry Smith, Dr. Louise Toppin, Judie Bruno, and Dr. Joseph Amaya.
